Friday Afternoon Update

IT APPEARS WE HAVE BEEN SPARED FROM THE SEVERE WEATHER

Rainfall Predictions for our area
  • Friday 7pm to Saturday 7pm 1-2 Inches
  • Saturday 7pm to Sunday 7pm 1-2 Inches
Winds
  • Tonight 10-20 mph gusts to 30mph
  • Saturday Same
  • Potential for minor tree damage
Most of the severe weather will be far east of us and into Louisiana if the storm stays on the current track. We will stay on top of this and monitor any changes

LOCAL SHELTERING

  • There are 58 people in Emmanuel Church this is their care capacity
  • There are 31 people in First Baptist this is their care capacity
  • First United Methodist Church is in the process of setting up a shelter at their location for 20 and will probably get someone.
  • At this time there are no local shelters selected for opening.

STATE

  • Everything is staged for a response to the impact area.
  • The State is still working on getting folks out of the impact zone
  • Evacuees have been airlifted to point as far as El Paso, Lubbock, and Amarillo
  • The primary afternoon report was weather as they have response activities underway and needed to get back to these.
